Now that were better aware of some of the pitfalls to avoid (read my article "Tele-phony"), lets discuss how to be an effective professional on the phone. People like to be around people, who are appropriately positive, appropriately enthusiastic, and who reflect a belief and confidence in what theyre doing.
There are several ways to sound positive and enthusiastic:
Be positive and engaged in your phone work, but not artificially so.
Make your calls during the time of day when you have the most energy and the best attitude. This will play to your natural cycle of energy.
Smile! Youve probably heard this before and its true. When you smile as you talk, your smile can be "heard".
Get proper nutrition to feed your body, your mind and your attitude. Ever notice how you become impatient when youre hungry? Ever notice how you have trouble staying focused when youre hungry? Ever notice how your attitude dips when youre hungry? Dont neglect this important aspect of phone success.
If youve been on the phone for a while (an hour or more), take a break to refresh yourself and rejuvenate. Your attitude and energy level will rise and your voice will reflect it.
As far as being and sounding professional goes, there are a number of very important techniques to employ:
Its good to develop a script so you remember the important points you want to make, but most of us dont write the way we speak. Get out of the habit of writing properly, and instead, write how you speak. It will make you sound more natural and will keep you from having to read your script.
Practice saying your script so it sounds like a completely natural conversation for you and your style.
Work to have a conversation instead of a presentation. As you get into your conversation, ask questions. Be consultative. Remember, this is about your prospect, not about you.
An excellent way to establish yourself as a professional is to introduce yourself as someone who helps people or businesses solve problems, rather than as someone selling insurance.
Another GREAT technique for setting yourself up as a professional is to be respectful of your prospects time. After introducing yourself, simply ask, "Do you have a few minutes to talk?" If youve been clear with your introduction, theyll know who you are and what you want to talk to them about. Their answer to your question will be very revealing.
Here are a couple of additional pointers:
If you feel like you sound like a telemarketer, you probably do. Change your approach/style.
If you feel that youre "over the top" with enthusiasm, you probably are. Tone things down to a more professional level.
If what you are saying makes you feel uncomfortable, your prospect will undoubtedly feel uncomfortable as well. Change how you say what you want to say so it comes out professionally and naturally. This way, you and your prospect wont become uncomfortable.
If you feel like youre coming across as being pushy, you probably are. Change your approach to reflect your own style of expressing yourself.
If you feel like youre not doing enough phone work, you probably arent. Find a way to say what you need to say in a professional manner and in a way that protects your attitude and energy, and get to work!
In conclusion, by listening to yourself as you use the phone and being sensitive to how you sound to others, you can develop an excellent style of telephone marketing that will set you apart from other marketers, will establish you as a professional, and will boost your rate of success tremendously.

Discovering and developing your vision of financial freedom in the 21st century is a deeply misunderstood concept. In fact, most people are looking for it in a place it cannot be found, the mind. We are taught (especially
Americans) to follow what will bring us money but not necessarily what brings us joy. Connecting the dots of vision (our dreams) to our heart rather than the mind, is critical to a satisfying and profitable business venture in
today's world.
Let me start connecting the dots by giving some perspective. Most of us are given the impression that being in the Heart is equated with weakness. This ego-based mentality has, in essence, been the dominant stance
throughout the world, especially if we look at the prevalent business model of the 20th Century. The operating business model today is a top-down structure. Decisions are made based on what the company needs rather than
what the people within that company need. In essence, most business today serves to alienate people. The people that make the business work are not part of the equation when it comes to the direction of the company.
The challenges of the 21st century are nudging us to operate differently, as many of our antiquated systems are falling apart. It's becoming obvious that preserving and respecting ourselves and others is essential to living
and thriving on this planet.

These days many of us are out of our home for over ten hours in a day, and there is little time to prepare a good and rather healthy meal. Im going to review some tips that will save you time in preparation your Chinese

1. Use common ingredients as substitute for hard-to-find ingredients. Some Asian foods may not be available in your local grocery store. You may substitute other foods when cooking your meals. If you need Asparagus in
your dish, you can substitute broccoli, string beans, and other green vegetables. Another example would be substitution for black mushrooms. You can use fresh American mushrooms.
2. Buy food ingredients in larger quantity. A) Buy a whole chicken. Remove the bones or debone the chicken and use the bones for soup stock. Use the chicken meat for your Chinese dishes to be stir fried with vegetables for
